Day 1: Terracotta Army Museum
In the morning, we visited the Terracotta Army Museum of Emperor Qin Shi Huang, the worlds largest ancient military museum, hailed as the "Eighth Wonder of the World." The terracotta warriors, each with unique forms and lifelike expressions, vividly depict the grandeur of the Qin army. It feels as if one has traveled through time, experiencing the extraordinary momentum of the First Emperor unifying the six states and bringing China under one rule over two thousand years ago.
In the afternoon, we visited Huaqing Palace, an ancient imperial garden. It was once the palace of Emperor Xuanzong and Yang Guifei, with beautiful hot springs and ancient architecture. The historical anecdote "The Beacon Fire to Amuse the Lords" and the "Xian Incident" also took place here. Ancient and modern history blends together, rich in cultural heritage.
In the evening, I returned to the city and had dinner in Hui Street, a famous food culture street in Xi an. Here, there is a wide variety of food, such as mutton soup, steamed cake, sesame paste cold skin, etc. Walking around here, I could taste authentic delicious food.
Day 2: Xi an City Wall
The Shaanxi History Museum, known as the "Pearl of the Ancient Capital and Treasure House of China," is an art sanctuary that houses and showcases the historical culture of Shaanxi and ancient Chinese civilization. Each artifact carries a piece of history, allowing visitors to gain a deep understanding of the long and splendid history and culture of Shaanxi and even China.
Touring the Xi an City Wall, the largest and best preserved ancient city wall in China, you can choose to walk or ride on the wall to get a panoramic view of the city, take in the urban life inside the city and the modern landscape outside the city, and feel the vicissitudes and unique charm of the ancient city.
In the afternoon, we visited the Great Wild Goose Pagoda. The Great Wild Goose Pagoda is located in Daci en Temple in Yanta District of Xi an. It was built by Xuanzang to preserve scriptures and Buddha statues. As the earliest existing brick pagoda with a square tower style in the Tang Dynasty, it has a unique architectural style that integrates Chinese and Indian cultures. The pagoda is rich in cultural relics and bears witness to the prosperity of historical culture in the Tang Dynasty.
In the evening, heading to Tang Dynasty Nocturnal City at the foot of Xi ans Great Wild Goose Pagoda, one can recreate the bustling scenes of Zhuzhao Street in Changan from a thousand years ago, with every corner exuding the grandeur of ancient Tang Dynasty. As night falls and the lights come on, this place skillfully blends history and modernity, where the interplay of light and shadow allows visitors to touch the tumultuous past and feel the weight and continuity of a thousand years of culture.
